Nobody Said I Was a Math Genius!
Its been forever and a day since I posted. The leaves on my mothers memorial tree are turning red outside my bedroom windows. The air is crisp and I am in grad school. This fall instead of four people in our family heading off to school, we have all five of us enrolled. This is making for a bit of craziness, but certainly a life I wouldn't change.
I woke up this morning to the frightening thought that our oldest child will only be in our house for another year and a half. I ran through all the things that need to happen in that year, fun and not so fun. I briefly started grieving the fact that my time with him is almost done... then I remembered he's only a sophomore! (giggle) I was obsessing over something that wasn't even true. Nobody said I was a math genius!
Here is what I do know. I planted my feet on the floor, slid them into soft, furry slippers and padded my way down the hall. I don't usually look forward to dragging his nearly six foot frame out of bed. Neither he nor I are what people term, morning people. But this morning, I will tell you I am happy I get to have more mornings blessed enough to wake his sleepy head.
